MOASF 2024 All British Motor Show

Sunday October 20th was another beautiful day in Danville, CA, as the Mini Owners of
America San Francisco hosted their 34th Annual All British Motor Show. This fantastic
show now honors the memory of Nick Becker, who conceived and promoted the show
for many decades.
An estimated 120-140 of the most meticulously prepared British automobiles and
motorcycles gathered to celebrate the Centenary of MG, in the shadows of the
Blackhawk Museum. Amongst all the wonderful cars in attendance, was an amazing
array of THE most beautiful MGs one might imagine to see in one location. The MGT
series cars were beyond beautiful, as were the MGAs and MGBs. But the grandest
example of the lot was that of a 1923 Morris-Cowley Bullnose, which sat proudly
amongst them all… This very unique and rare automobile, the precursor to what would
one day become the MG, was deservedly recognized with a handful of awards. On
behalf of the Valley British Auto Club, I was proud to present a limited edition
Centenary Medallion to this beautiful unrestored car, which also received honors as
“Best In Show.” It was, without doubt, the most worthy example of what the MG
Centenary represents.
This was my 4th or 5th time making the trek from the Central Valley up to the All British
Motor Show. Each time has been absolutely great. The people who are in attendance
are amazing and, like many events out there, you never know who you’ll meet… The
folks with MOASF do an outstanding job in being able to gather some of the best there
is in British iron. Their hospitality is always warm and inviting and the friendships I
have come to enjoy are very much appreciated…
On a personal note, my 1970 Austin Mini Cooper S was awarded Second Place honors
in the MkI-MkIII Mini Cooper class. A great big Thank You to everyone who chose to
vote for this very special Mini.
I highly recommend for everyone to consider adding this car show to your calendars.
You will not regret attending. Thanks to MOASF for another fantastic time in Danville
and I look forward to returning in 2025.
